Reporting to the SVP Sales and responsible for delivering sales, developing and communicating long-term strategic plans and omni-channel integration with existing retail partner (Nordstrom) that meet brand and financial objectives. Identify new retail partners, lead negotiation and execution
Responsibilities and Duties
CLIENT MANAGEMENT & EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: establish close partnerships with retailer partner, key decision makers and influencers including GMM, OMM, staffing, marketing, planning, e-commerce. Responsible for communicating objectives and ensuring executional alignment. The topics will include: reinforce strategy, sell innovative concepts which help drive business and provide results on programs
CULTIVATE HIGH-LEVEL, IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING: of retailer specific policies, CRM strategies, client facing opportunities, merchandising and staffing policies- actively communicate this information to the business
DRIVE SUSTAINABLE & PROFITABLE GROWTH: achieve e/m channel fiscal sales goals as part of the total retailer sales goals. Track business to identify sales targets, ranking, strengthening brand position and competitor analysis to address business needs, and plan as needed to meet goals.
DELIVER BUSINESS REPORTING: providing weekly and monthly reporting on the business performance
CLOSE COLLABORATION WITH BRAND TEAMS: work closely with brand team to jointly develop strategies and tactics to capture the priority opportunities for each retail partner.
DRIVE RETAIL SALES AND GAIN MARKETSHARE: develop Joint Business Plan and promotional strategy in partnership with respective Marketing, Digital and Education teams to translate concepts into retailer specific action plans as well as propose and actively co-lead development projects which address retailer specific needs or opportunities
EXPLORE AND LEAD DIGITAL MARKETING PROGRAM: identify opportunities, evaluating/negotiating co-op deals (as needed), guiding on best practice E-commerce principles across retail
DRIVE INTEGRATION OF COM AND B&M: work with the Nordstrom team to meet customers evolving omni channel expectations and, at the same time, continue to evolve the brands go to market strategies to fully capitalize on the strengths of the channel
DRIVE CROSS-FUNCTIONAL ALIGNMENT BETWEEN NORDSTROM AND ELEMIS: work closely with the teams for B&M, retailer.com, and marketing to further integrate strategic objectives, sales objectives, and marketing planning to capitalize on potential synergies, eliminate overlaps, and maximize the potential of each channel as well as of omni channel
MENTOR IN-STORE AND FREELANCE STAFF: actively manage in-store and freelance support network in line with sales goals and budget. Working with Education to develop an on-going education plan to maximize sales activity
MANAGE IN-STORE INVENTORY: work with internal Demand Planning team and retailers to ensure appropriate stock levels and product mix and key launch strategies. Take appropriate action, negotiate and leverage, to minimize returns and optimize OTB dollars. Work with retailer and marketing to review assortment mix and performance
ENGAGE AND PROVIDE HIGH VISIBILITY BRAND SUPPORT: representing the brand at retailer specific, corporate meetings and strategy sessions, ensuring image, presentation and actions support brand equity and the strengthening of brand position.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor degree and minimum of 5 years’ experience with Retailers (specifically Nordstrom & Ulta)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing, with proven experience managing sell in account responsibilities as well as field sales management history managing customer relationship role
Self-motivated, results oriented, creative thinker
Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
Analytical in approach to identifying opportunities
Strong negotiation skills
Preferably worked in cross-functional organizational structure
